She knew that she might be overshadowed in a big banner like Kuselan, since it was a Rajni film and banked on his popularity. "But, as regards the other actors in the film, there’s something called equality, isn’t there?" Meena questions.

Meena said she got a big shock on the very day the film was released. “I was shooting in Hyderabad when some friends who saw the movie called me. Though I am the heroine in the film, my name came after Nayantara's in title card. They didn’t have to put me down so badly!” the actress said, adding that it’s awkward to face any queries relating to the film from friends or people in the industry.Meena also recalled that some emotional scenes in which she performed well were not finally used. “Pasupathy and I had three children in the film - two girls and a boy. In this particular scene, the boy (who is dark-skinned like his father) asks me why he is dark. It was a touching scene and came out very well... everyone on the sets applauded it. I was surprised that it was not used in the final version that made it to the theatres,” she added.
